developed originally by Focus on the Family Australia, motivated by the increasing drug problem among young people and the frustrated attempts by parents to steer their children away from the harmful use of drugs.
Focus on the Family Ireland launched DPYK in 2007 and have a number of trained presenters who have run courses with parents in their church and community.
New Facilitator Training Course:
We are holding our first two-day facilitator training event on May 14th and 15th next, two days packed with inspiration and tools to successfully deliver the programme in your local community. This event will equip you will all the tools and materials you need to run this six-session course for parents in your local community.
The six sessions are:
- Parenting Through Prevention
- Building a Strong Foundation
- Creating Integrity and Responsibility
- Communication and Participation
- Creating a Safe Network & Peace of Mind
- Recognition and Affirmation
The training event will take place on Friday and Saturday May 14th and 15th in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
